A Full Circle Moment: Honored as the 2025 NCPGA Teacher & Coach of the Year

On December 7, 2025, I had the incredible honor of being recognized as the 2025 Northern California PGA (NCPGA) Teacher & Coach of the Year at Green Valley Country Club.

To be acknowledged by my peers in the NCPGA section is deeply humbling. This award isn’t just a personal milestone; it’s a reflection of the hard work and trust of every student who has stepped onto the lesson tee with me.

Beyond the Swing: My Coaching Philosophy

Throughout my 25+ years of coaching, my focus has shifted from just “fixing a swing” to developing the whole athlete. My background as a former #1-ranked junior and Stanford team captain taught me early on that physical skill is rarely the only determining factor in success.

This is why I’ve dedicated my career to integrating the mental, physical, and strategic dimensions of performance. By combining my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with advanced training in mindfulness and meditation, I aim to help players—from elite juniors to PGA and LPGA Tour pros—find their own “peak performance” state.

Gratitude and What’s Next

I want to extend a massive thank you to the NCPGA Special Awards Committee and my fellow professionals for this recognition.

I am also incredibly grateful to:

  • My Students: Your dedication and willingness to dive into the deeper work of performance coaching fuel my passion every day.
  • My Mentors and Peers: I’ve been fortunate to learn from and collaborate with some of the best in the business, including Jason Baile (the 2025 National PGA Teacher of the Year), Mark Blackburn, and Greg Rose.

As we head into 2026, my goal remains the same: to help you unlock your full potential, not just as golfers, but as resilient athletes.
